Manchester Victoria Station reopens

"Hot on the heels of Birmingham New Street, Manchester’s Victoria station is the next major city transport hub to unveil its ‘new look’.

Following a series of new renovations across the UK, Manchester Victoria has officially reopened this week after a £44m overhaul – which sees four new tram platforms and three new tracks.

Apple Pay causes problems for public transport users

"Whilst UK public transport in 2015 is arguably at its most effective, with new efficiencies and changes around every corner, it seems some developments are causing more harm than good, as Apple’s new pay system showed last month.

"Technology has played a pivotal role in the evolution of transport. It’s helped to make travelling safer, cheaper, more efficient and easier to use. At the HATS Group, technology has helped us to increase growth and has made our services run better as a result. But, sometimes slick technology isn’t always the answer."

UNDERGROUND WORKERS THREATEN SECOND TUBE STRIKE ON 5 AUGUST
